Where is the wedding taking place?

Our wedding celebrations will take place at Borgo di Pietrafitta Relais in the heart of Chianti, Tuscany, Italy.
The closest major airports are:
Florence (FLR) — approximately 1 hour away
Pisa (PSA) — approximately 1.5 hours away
Rome (FCO) — approximately 3 hours away
For the easiest travel experience, We recommend flying into Florence on May 12th, or arriving early on May 13th. For departures, we recommend booking travel home on May 16th From 4:00pm onwards, accounting for traffic and car rental returns.
What airport should I fly into?

What date should I plan to arrive and depart?

Check-in at the borgo opens at 3:00pm on May 13th and closes at 8:00pm that day, our welcome gathering will start the evening of May 13th, so we suggest arriving in the afternoon of the 13th.
Check-out at the borgo is at 10:00am on May 16th. If flying out that day, we recommend booking anything 4:00pm onwards, accounting for traffic and car rental returns.
Can I stay at the Borgo?

We’ve reserved a number of rooms and apartments directly at Borgo di Pietrafitta for our guests.
Accommodation pricing booked through us will be:
€100/night per person
€150/night per couple
Rooms and apartments vary in layout and size, and some accommodations may involve stairs or shared apartment common spaces.
How do I reserve accommodation?

Please complete the accommodation interest survey linked on our website. We’ll follow up with room assignments and payment details closer to the wedding. There are lots of accommodation options at the nearby town of Castellina in Chianti, only 5-minutes by car down the hill from the borgo, and lots of nearby villas that can be booked through vrbo or directly through the villa’s websites.
Are there accessibility considerations?

Yes. As the Borgo is a historic Tuscan property, some rooms and apartments require stairs and may have uneven terrain.
Please let us know about any accessibility or mobility needs in your accommodation survey or RSVP (coming out in fall 2026) so we can do our best to accommodate you.
What should I wear?

You can check out our dress guides (coming soon) for some inspiration, but overall we want you to be comfortable and happy.
Take into consideration weather and the outdoor nature of the event in your packing.
Don’t worry about overlapping with the bridal/grooms party colours: we’re going for a multicolour, vibrant wedding palette.
Welcome event: fun casual

Wedding day: formal
Comfortable shoes are highly recommended for walking on stone paths and uneven surfaces.
What will the weather be like?

Tuscany is typically warm and sunny during this time of year, with cooler evenings.
Average temperatures are usually:
Daytime: 25–32°C (77–90°F)
Evening: 16–22°C (60–72°F)
Will there be transportation between events, or from the airport?

Most wedding events will take place directly at the Borgo or nearby venues within a 5-10 minute walking distance.
We are looking into transportation options from major airport hubs and/or on-site to assist with accessibility: Stay tuned, Transportation details will be shared closer to the wedding.
Can I bring a plus one?

When will I receive an invitation with RSVP options?

We’ll be sending out our digital invitations with a link to rsvp in fall 2026.
What if I already know I can’t attend?

We’ll miss you! But we totally understand, it’s a big commitment. We kindly ask you to let one of us know directly, or fill out this form.
Are children invited?

We have hard logistical limitations to the number of children we can accommodate on-site, but if we haven’t spoken to you already, please reach out to us directy so we can chat.
What is there to do nearby?

The Chianti region is full of beautiful vineyards, hill towns, restaurants, and scenic drives. We’ve included some recommendations here.

What currency is used in Italy, and do I need cash?

Italy uses the Euro (€). Most places accept credit cards, but it’s always helpful to carry some cash for taxis, cafés, or smaller local shops.
Will there be wi-fi and cell connection?

Yes, Wi‑Fi is available throughout the Borgo. If you need more connectivity or bandwidth, helen recommends downloading an e-sim before traveling. HOlafly, Saily, and Maya are all options we’ve used often.
If you’re extending your trip to different countries in europe, we recommend looking into a europe-wide e-sim rather than italy-only, to potentially save costs.
